Product Overview:

Initial Preparation:

  1. Unpack and Clean:

    • Remove all labels and packaging.
    • Hand wash all parts with warm water.
    • Rinse thoroughly to remove soap residue.
  2. Season the Pot:

    • Make 2-3 pots of coffee to season the pot.
    • Follow the instructions below for each cycle.

How to Use:

  1. Fill the Lower Chamber:

    • Add cold water, ensuring the water level is just below the safety valve.
  2. Insert the Funnel:

    • Fill the funnel with ground espresso, without tamping it down.
    • Remove any coffee grounds from the edge of the funnel.
  3. Assemble the Pot:

    • Tightly screw the upper chamber onto the base, avoiding the use of the handle for leverage.
  4. Stovetop Use:

    • Select a burner size that matches the base of the pot.
    • For gas stovetops, ensure the flame does not exceed the diameter of the pot’s base.
  5. Brewing Process:

    • Place the pot on the stovetop until the water boils and coffee starts to come out of the center post. A gurgling sound will indicate the process.
    • When the upper chamber is filled with coffee and hazel brown foam appears, the coffee is ready.
  6. Final Step:

    • Stir the coffee in the upper chamber with a small spoon to blend the different layers and optimize the flavour.

Cleaning Instructions:

  • Hand Wash Only: Wash the pot by hand with warm water.
  • Dry Thoroughly: Use a towel to dry all parts completely before reassembling to avoid oxidation.
  • Avoid Detergents: Do not use soap or detergent.
  • No Dishwasher: This product is not dishwasher-safe.
  • Avoid Abrasives: Do not use steel wool or other abrasive cleaning products.

Tips & Precautions:

  • Coffee Grounds: Use coffee grounds specifically for moka pots. Avoid overly fine coffee.
  • Regular Maintenance: Periodically check the funnel, filter plate, and washer for wear; they may need replacement over time.
  • Water Level: Never use the pot without water.
  • Coffee Only: Do not use tea, cacao powder, or instant coffee, as they will clog the filter.
  • Temperature Control: High heat can result in a burnt taste. Experiment to find the ideal temperature.
  • Storage: Store coffee grounds in an airtight container, away from sunlight.
  • Water Quality: For the best coffee flavour, use filtered water.
